I have already developed the initial cup and lid in various sizes. Straw cum spoon is in conceptual phase.

Objective: My goal is clear environment and cost effective solution for day to day fiber cup replacement.

Idea: This I got it while talking to a friend discussing about how the cows in India choke due to eating plastic so commonly observed. One of the reason being dropping out the traditional way of eating in earthenware. Plastic was a invention from world war 2 which later got commercialized in order those plastic producing industries should survive, hence in order to find a effective solution, need to switch back to decades of known method that is earthenware.

Product Description: Here I have considered 3 products mainly cups, lids and straw cum spoon made from clay which is free from safe, hygienic due, size flexible, unlike other solutions very temperature friendly that is hot or cold and yes off course sustainable .

It does not effect taste of any beverages. Its production does not require R&D and high tech setup. Completely health as NO plastic film and wax coating required.

It is costing me to produce USD 3  for 6 pieces. If mass produced, it can even get cheaper and cost effective depending on the resource, machinery and labor.

Recycle and reuse:

Once the earthenware are collected centrally, it can be recycled by again crushing, washing, soaking, remaking them without loosing any material.

Conclusion:  Need to undo the wrong which has happened by humans in world war by inventing ugly thing like plastic with more easy and trustful solution which has been part of human lifestyle before the plastic era began.

This solution addresses which of the following:

  • Hot / Cold Fiber Cup
  • Cup Lids
  • Straws
  • Cup Sleeve
  • Cup Liner
  • All of the Above
  • Reusable System

How have you incorporated additional sustainability attributes (beyond recoverability) into your solution?

The suggested products does not have any liner of plastic or fiber.

What regions do you plan to address with your solution (and how will you accomplish this)?

This solution I plan to address in Asia region initially as its a well style of using earthenware for serving food and beverages in many communities and tribes.

divya jain great idea. I like that you also started prototyping. Have you also tested it with users to see how they perceive using your cup. Did you also test it with liquids.
