Idea Title

Paper cone for carrying cardboard cups

Idea Summary

Replace the plastic cover of the cup on the protective structure of paper, then it will be possible to reduce the anthropogenic impact on the environment while preserving the operational qualities

Company / Organization Name (if applicable)

I'm a private inventor.

Website (if applicable)

Please include a visual (can be either 2D or 3D) representation/prototype of your concept. (required)

After a series of experiments, a design was developed in the form of a paper cone with a handle for carrying in which a cardboard cup is inserted.

This solution addresses which of the following:

  • Hot / Cold Fiber Cup
  • Cup Lids
  • Alternative Delivery System

How is your concept recoverable?

The diameter of the top of the conical carrier (2) is greater than the diameter of the top of the cup (3), and the diameter of the bottom of the conical carrier (2) is smaller than the diameter of the top of the cup (3) - thus the cup (3) is jammed (4) in the conical carrier, and via the handle (1) cup is carried to the place of consumption. In the case of movement of the cup (3) in which the beverage wave forms inside it, the jamming ring (4) of the cup (3) and the conical carrier (2) is a sufficiently reliable barrier to the leakage of the carried beverage - therefore, the beverage wave (5) spill back into the cup (3) without spilling the contents of the cup (3) out. After carrying the cup (3) to the place of consumption of the beverage, put it on the table or other fixed surface, and lightly move the conical carrier (2) down and continue to use the cup in a usual manner.

How have you incorporated additional sustainability attributes (beyond recoverability) into your solution?

Since the liquid contacts the paper cone only with very strong external shocks - we can use almost any paper without special processing.

What regions do you plan to address with your solution (and how will you accomplish this)?

Our approach to replacement cup lids can be applied anywhere in the planet Earth.

Describe your target market. Who will benefit from your product?

In contrast to the plastic cover, a strip of paper from which the cone is made, when it enters the natural environment, it is swiftly decomposed without the intermediate release of toxic substances.

Please describe how becoming a Top Idea will support the growth of your concept.

We will work on your terms simply because there are no other options. If resources are invested in the project, they will be spent by the following prioritization: 1. Promotion of a new approach to designing paper cone at various exhibitions, contests and congresses. 2. Organization of small experimental production paper cone. 3. Development of optimized for specific customers.

Several companies have expressed a desire to join my projects.
Can I add this information to my projects? And if I can, how?

I believe that limiting use of plastic lids is good, but I'm not sure that your solution is a good way to do so. It feels as though if something knocked into your drink, it would still spill. Or if you are walking and swing your cup accidentally it would spill.

Not. An experimental test showed that the device is very safe.

Here is a photo of a strong blow to the cabinet:

And if the device is simply rocked, then with a certain dexterity it is even possible to make a "dead loop" above the head ;-)

It does not spill a drop of the drink.

When waiting, you can check it yourself if you make a device from the second cup:
