It is the lineup of three solutions for cold, hot and frappe drinks. I made two types of cups, one new type of straw and one edible lid.

When I tried to create a cup safe for the nature, I understood that it was necessary not only to abandon the usual materials, but also to connect all the elements of the cup, getting rid of plastic lids and straws in favor of the monolithic construction. The complication of the design of the cup forced us to rethink its usual form, creating a cup with a fixed lid and straw.

A cup for cold drinks made from agar-agar. Edible material is high-tech and easy to decompose. The cup consists of a container, a lid and a straw. The lid is a continuation of the wall of the cup. The cover in the initial position is bent upwards. After filling the cup, the user must break off the lid and fix it on the top of the cup with the help of grooves. The shape of a rounded triangle in a section of the cup increases the length of the line of initial contact between the lid and the cup. Accordingly, this form does not allow the lid to break off from the cup prematurely. The straw is located on the inner wall of the cup and has a convenient anatomical shape in cross section. The front face of the cup has a groove for making cups in a stack.

A cup for hot drinks consists of a container and a lid. However, to create a cup starch materials are used, due to the increased heat resistance. Similarly, with a cold cup, the lid is a continuation of the cup wall. The hole is located on the curved top of the cup, but not on the lid.

The frappe cup looks like a cold drink cup, but uses a different lid. The edible lid consists of flavored agar agar. It consists of 6 breakable segments that can be used as an edible cream spoon. The lid is served to the customer sealed in rice paper.

This solution addresses which of the following:

  • Hot / Cold Fiber Cup
  • Cup Lids
  • Straws

How is your concept recoverable?

Using of edible material means that cups will recoverable. Even if you do not eat your cup, it will not harm the environment.

I really find it very interesting because an edible cup will reduce a lot of waste. I also think it could be a good and innovative way to help the planet and also continue enjoying your coffee.
