Ruti Straw

It comes from the grass Andropogon Gayanus Kunth plentiful in many parts of the world, it's considered a invading plague for it's rapid germination and growth, takes about 3 to 4 months to grow 2.5 meter to 3.5 metes approximately the stem.

To obtain every straw it is necessary to cut both ends to specific measures to then extract the spongy tissue of each stem, which it deforms it's natural condition to obtain a hollow light cylinder that serves to suck liquids.

They are existing straws already hollow by nature, but these have advantages and disadvantages.

The Ruti straw is compostable and serves as food for cattle.

The sustainability of our product helps not to use plastic, helping to satisfy the current needs without sacrificing the environment of the present and future generations.

What regions do you plan to address with your solution (and how will you accomplish this)?

Where the food chains of this challenge are located, we will increase the production of the grass and with the sophisticated machines we will have more products in less time.

Describe your target market. Who will benefit from your product?

My target market are the clients of the food chains and all the world will benefit because our product is in harmony with the environment and doesn't cause any damage like plastic materials. Also the farmers where the grass is going to grow, because they're grasslands are exploited to produce the raw material of Ruti straw.

More production in less time is the principal challenge we are facing. This is done by working with sophisticated machines.

Please describe how becoming a Top Idea will support the growth of your concept.

We will use the funding to invest in more sophisticated machines to accelerate the process, biothecnology to grow the grass higher and in less time and in grasslands to satisfy the quantities of straws that are needed by the restaurants in the food chains.
