Idea Title

Rewards Drink Catcher

Idea Summary

Individuals can dump out the liquid contents from the cup and either recycle it or keep the cups to use as a coupon next time they come to Starbucks.

Company / Organization Name (if applicable)

Starbucks and McDonalds

Website (if applicable)

N/A

Please include a visual (can be either 2D or 3D) representation/prototype of your concept. (required)

The liquid container will be installed behind the recycling option so that people can dump out their liquid before adding creamers and sugar. Also, when people are done with their drink they can dump out the rest of the liquid then throw the cup in the recycling bin. That way the cups can be recycled. The other idea was that the cups are a coupon that way people can bring coffee cups in and get a discount on coffee and food.

This solution addresses which of the following:

  • All of the Above

How is your concept recoverable?

We have a coupon incentive for returning the to-go fiber cups. We are also getting rid of the liquid content in the to-go fiber cups when individuals are done with their drink.

How have you incorporated additional sustainability attributes (beyond recoverability) into your solution?

Our liquid contains are created from ethically sourced material.

What regions do you plan to address with your solution (and how will you accomplish this)?

Global initiatives will address the issue of to-go fiber cups not being recycled and we will accomplish this through our drink catcher and the coupon incentive.
