Idea Summary

A coffee cup that looks and feels like a regular takeaway coffee cup, but is free of plastics. It is durable, lightweight and biodegradable alternative to plastic cups.

reusable plastic coffee cups are not sustainable and harmful for people health. ceramic cups are heavy, easy to break and get quite hot.

Bamboo has two layers which are quite thick. these layers allows you to pour hot water into the internal layers, but with the second layers outside, you won't feel the heat.

This solution addresses which of the following:

  • Hot / Cold Fiber Cup
  • Cup Lids
  • Cup Sleeve
  • Cup Liner
  • Some of the Above
  • Reusable System
  • Alternative Delivery System

How is your concept recoverable?

Reusable plastic coffee cups are not sustainable and the plastic impairs the taste of the coffee and they are always being casually discarded on the streets. This bamboo coffee cups are more durable, lightweight and biodegradable alternative to disposable coffee cups.

How have you incorporated additional sustainability attributes (beyond recoverability) into your solution?

Solution is to recycle old bamboo chopsticks and their offcuts into bamboo coffee cups.

What is the current stage of development of your idea?
