Idea Title

Production based on 100% starch.

Idea Summary

The cup and all of its constituent parts are made by molding from 100% starch, and vegetable fat, which is covered with a thin film inside the cup, gives impermeability and water resistance.

Company / Organization Name (if applicable)

Stiglitz Academy

Website (if applicable)

The cups are made from 100% starch (potatoes, corn). Designed for cold and hot drinks. The density of dishes will be given by any vegetable oil, which, when pressed, covers the inner walls with a thin layer at the molecular level.

The oil sticks to the mesh due to the small size of the cells. This increases the internal tension, which prevents the penetration of other fluids through the pores.

Cuffs for glass, lids, tubes and supports “with you” are also made from 100% starch.

In the places of fast food near the trash cans there will be a container to replenish the used cups. Glass is fully recyclable.

Its cost is also as close as possible to the price of plastic. Only here, in nature, he behaves completely differently. The term of its complete disappearance ranges from 30 days to several months. Moreover, decomposing, it simply turns into organic matter, fertilizing the soil with it.

Advertising placed on the cuff for glass. How easy it is to type.

This solution addresses which of the following:

  • Hot / Cold Fiber Cup
  • Cup Lids
  • Straws
  • Other

How is your concept recoverable?

Glasses that get to the gathering place, processing, can safely go into the composition of your favorite people - bread. Those glasses that fall into the common garbage will be to the joy of microbes.

How have you incorporated additional sustainability attributes (beyond recoverability) into your solution?

The idea is intended not only for a glass, but also for a lid that closes it, a tube, a cup holder, cuffs (where the advertisement is located). Everything must be recycled. The product does not contain oil, all on natural mealy carbohydrate.

What regions do you plan to address with your solution (and how will you accomplish this)?

The decision is aimed at the Russian Federation. There are a lot of resources. The huge country rich with territories, is a lot of potatoes, or corn. People here also love Bread.

Describe your target market. Who will benefit from your product?

Today ecology is in fashion and everything connected with it is somehow connected. From this decision, win first of all people who think about what and how they eat, what air they breathe, what kind of water they drink. Companies that make up programs aimed at improving the ecology of the planet. Producers who seek to use only natural raw materials and widely advertise their "environmental identity". Material to the touch is much nicer than plastic or paper. In addition, eco products are more elastic. May take any form. The glass will be used in the usual way for people. Only recycling will be different.

What is the current stage of development of your idea?

  • Research & Early Testing

What are the biggest challenges you are facing today? What are existing gaps in your solution?

The problem is recycling. In infrastructure. In people who are not interested, where does the glass go after drinking coffee. Gaps in the new solution is a question related to the manufacturer of current plastics, will global companies agree to completely change raw materials? Given that the domestic market for environmental goods is just beginning to emerge, the prospects for its development are very high. A niche disposable eco-ware occupies one of the very first vacant and profitable places in this market sector. Therefore, it's time to do "business on ecology."

  • Product / Industrial Design and Prototyping

Tell us about yourself and your team. What is your background and experience?

I am a student of industrial academy, department of industrial design. I study in the third year. From the first course we do nothing. what we design and design. And that's cool. I love design thinking! Experience with the companies was not.

In what city are you located?

St. Petersburg

In what country are you located?

Russia

Please describe how becoming a Top Idea will support the growth of your concept.

The allocated funds will go to the production, which produces plastic cups. These plants can also squeeze material from starch, as is done with plastic. The goal is for clean, disposable cups to go to restaurants, coffee boxes and fast food places. The price of starch is almost equal to the price of cellulose. Starch is simpler, production standards are preserved, the material is adjusted to current production lines.
