I was inspired by Nurse-Family partnership's down to earth and community driven approach to supporting new moms.

It made me wonder: What are the ways in which we can conveniently and effectively support new moms -- not just by offering resources with conditions (money, time, transportation), but by meeting them right where they are (physically and metaphorically)? What challenges do you face as an organization or program when offering condition-free support to a complex demographic in need? What other programs, products or services do you know out there that do this well?

A quick blurb from their site, and a video that describes what they do here.

"Becoming a mom for the first time can be a bit overwhelming. No joke – there’s a lot to learn. So imagine having your own personal nurse.

Nurse-Family Partnership can make that happen. First-time moms who are less than 29 weeks pregnant, meet income requirements, live in a service area are eligible for free help from a personal nurse who will come to your home to offer advice, support and a good laugh when you need it most through your pregnancy and until your baby is 2 years old.

More than 250,000 first-time moms have participated in the program. It’s entirely voluntary and geared just for you. We’d love to answer your questions and help you enroll.

What is a provocation or insight that might inspire others during this challenge?

How does this research relate to our use cases and personas?

This inspiration post supports persona #1, under-resourced moms.
