Check out this fun trailer for Ping Pong – a movie in which 8 players with 703 years between them, compete in the World over 80s Table Tennis Championships in Inner Mongolia. The film includes confronting and inspiring portraits of life while exploring the hope and immediacy of growing old.

"It is about ageing, mortality, friendship, ambition and love. The stories stay with you for hours, weeks, after the credits have rolled. But perhaps its most powerful achievement is to leave us with a more humane conception of sport – and of life itself." – Matthew Syed, The Times

How might we celebrate older sports heroes who remain active to inspire both young and old people? How might friendly competition be leveraged to get ageing folks involved in healthy activities? How good are you going to be at ping pong when you're 80? ;^)

I loved this film.

It is interesting how in some countries old age and the wisdom that accrues is cherished, while written off in others.
