A simple, elegant and engaging value proposition: allow urban consumers in Italy to better connect with the local production of food, while connecting farms to produce sustainably and sell locally. Italian company Le Verdure Del Mio Orto, — (‘The Vegetables from my Garden’) lets anyone build an organic garden right from their browser. For a fee, users can choose the vegetables to plant in their virtual garden and reap the fruits of their labour as the organic produce is planted, harvested and delivered to their doorstep. There is even an option to receive a photo album of the garden's progress.

I love how realistic this is. It's speaks to the desire that urban consumers (like myself!) have connect with local food production without necessarily having the space or time to commit to an urban garden.
