Food verification...Or is this real feta cheese?

mPedigree, a non-profit organization based in Ghana, offers a free and rapid means for customers to verify the authenticity of the drugs they purchase at the point of sale, using a mobile phone.

What if we use an application on our smart phones to tell us about the origin of the food and the content of the food we're purchasing? You scan the barcode on the food with your mobile device and the info appears.

In my home country, Bulgaria, there are often food scandals, related to selling "fake cheese" as feta cheese (palm oil with color/taste improvement, which has noting to do with feta cheese), meat that has been frozen for more than 10 years, meat with unknown origin, etc. I hear often people say that even they have money to buy, they are not sure what to buy and when it comes to baby food and food for kids, it is even more important to be aware of the origin.
