Why do you want to be OpenIDEO's Visual and User Experience Designer?

I've loved participating in OpenIDEO's design challenges and believe that this platform uniquely empowers people around the world to collaborate on global issues facing our planet. I want to craft experiences for users to deeply engage with the design process and challenges that are presented here. I am a user experience designer and a Master's candidate at Stanford studying learning design. I have 3 years of design experience from the start-up to corporate level and am excited for this role.

How many years of experience do you have?

  • I just graduated grad school and have less than 3 years of experience in design

How did you hear about this challenge?

I heard about this challenge from the OpenIDEO platform.

What did you learn when developing the deliverables in response to the design brief?

I learned about how to communicate a complex challenge concisely and visually while also determining how to energize participants around this issue. I also learned about the power that a poster could have in also educating potential users about an issue as a way to draw them in and begin thinking about their perceptions around it.

This is a poster to announce the OpenIDEO inclusivity challenge. It displays and defines diversity and inclusivity through the metaphor of a party as a way to communicate what the challenge requires and suggests the excitement of inviting a diversity of participants to collaborate around this issue.
