This cute video is designed to give people motivation to pitch their own idea in OpenIDEO. It briefly explains why OpenIDEO is the fastest way to realize their valuable idea on important challenges around the world. By having social media as a touchpoint of the campaign, the film will potentially draw lots of creative and thoughtful people to OpenIDEO website. Inflow of ideas through this self-selection process will empower the platform to collectively figure out better solution.

Why do you want to be OpenIDEO's Visual and User Experience Designer?

Primarily, I believe design can serve as a bridge that connects isolated people and thoughts together. Through design both direct and indirect experience can be delivered, and through the delivered experience mutual understanding among different social groups can arise. Moreover, with lots of experience in space/product design, I believe I can be a good addition to OpenIDEO in a sense that I can add diversity to the group and can extend the range of projects that OpenIDEO deals with.

  • I just graduated grad school and have less than 3 years of experience in design

What did you learn when developing the deliverables in response to the design brief?

- Open IDEO is a group of people with cool head and warm heart.

- Incentivize people with clear goal and reward

- Cuteness is one of the easiest way to draw attention from people.

- Making video that tracks how the winner idea actually realized could be also      important.

Further Suggestion,

- My video is only the first step of the process

- I want to expand this strategy of ‘promoting challenge with video’ to all the other challenges.

- The clip to be shared on social media for a challenge should be a story telling documentary that explains deeply about each challenge.
