How might we make the briefing page more engaging

I reorganised the extensive information for briefs so that it is more easily digestible and interactive and therefore more engaging.

Upload the Design Brief Deliverables

I used a split screen design to make the briefing information feel more interactive and digestible I used a timeline to help users navigate through the brief The Brief process can be easily clicked through so that users can switch from each stage, idea, feedback etc. I colour coded each to make it more easily understandable and incorporated a circular symbol to denote the amount of time you have to contribute to each stage.

Why do you want to be OpenIDEO's Visual and User Experience Designer?

I have lead UX design projects and I am used to working in diverse teams and getting best out of everyone. With every new project I push myself to learn new skills. I used this opportunity to learn the Principle animation software. I only had 2 days to complete this task as I wasn't aware of the challenge until quite late. Hopefully this demonstrates my eagerness to learn and try new things which is what I think the OpenIdeo community is all about.

How many years of experience do you have?

  • Less than 3 years of experience

How did you hear about this challenge?

I received an email from OpenIdeo.

What did you learn when developing the deliverables in response to the design brief?

I thought about this brief from the new users perspective. There is a lot of information for new users to take in, especially on the briefing page. I realised that the list of information is quite overwhelming. I tried to re-organise the information in a more interactive and fun way in a split screen design in order to engage users with a lot of dense but necessary information. I also took the time to follow the design process focusing on the user perspective rather than jumping straight in.
