Why do you want to be OpenIDEO's Visual and User Experience Designer?

OpenIDEO platform encourages and teaches people from all over the world that they can and should be a part of the solution and to take action - most inspiring type of work I can imagine. After tapping into architecture, education, advertising, as well as designing for healthcare, startups and big and small companies, I fell I can give so much to the OpenIDEO community and ultimately learn even more.

How many years of experience do you have?

  • More than 5 years of experience

How did you hear about this challenge?

Via newsletter

What did you learn when developing the deliverables in response to the design brief?

I've learned the great amount of responsibilities entailed when working on the OpenIDEO platform, a lot of it does not come to mind when only participating. Also, the research I did on inclusion and diversity was greatly enriching!

After identifying areas of opportunity for improvement, I've decided to tackle the moment when the challenge is first announced and focus on two important human-centered design mindsets - empathy and optimism.  I've assumed a show of positive outcomes and people that would benefit from the challenge, would increase interest and also maybe engage innovators who, at first, do not feel connected to the subject. The idea is feasible, since it involves adding one webpage, and curating - not creating - content.

While doing research, I've came across some amazing articles and videos on the subject and decided to include real links in the mockup.
