The DHIS2 is a key source of EPI data for the platform, thanks to an API already devised. In regards to any additional geolocated dataset to be collected, MAHA will build an extract, transform and load (ETL) plugin so that diverse types of data recorded with different methods can be easily uploaded into the platform, to better inform EPI program.

Explain the innovation (2,500 characters)

A full overview of the IT infrastructure can be appraised when looking at the attached picture “IT Infrastructure”. The GIS Server and all potential source of information should be duly structured so to link with the GIS Apps as modular tools (See attached file about the whole set of GIS apps) ; GIS EPI Shared Services Centre to be deemed as a user friendly Geoportal is dependent on the back end services and specially the management of data warehouse. In regards to the integration with DHIS2 database and EPI nationwide databases, MAHA has developed an Intelligent DHIS2 Export Application (IDEA). The Intelligent District Health Information System Export Application Programme Interface – IDEA is a dynamic application that allows exporting data from any DHIS2 instance for staging ready for import into other destination applications for further analysis. The application does not keep data itself it just uses the data already available on the DHIS2 instance to transform it into the required format. Thus, the user is at liberty to choose the data to export (data elements, indicators, data set, organization units etc.) The application is secured across two levels: 1) you would need a password in order to connect and access the application in the first place; 2) you need credentials for accessing the desired DHIS2 instance, i.e. the link (URL) to the instance, including the relevant username and password, preferably as sysadmin. In regards to any additional geolocated datasets, because these are using different formats which cannot easily be merged with existing data warehouse, MAHA will build an ETL plugin. The following Data source for GIS platform are integrated: (1) Administrative reporting data from clinics, districts and municipalities on coverage and drop out data from multiple antigens; 
 (2) Surveillance information on vaccine preventable disease outbreaks (e.g. polio, 
measles or diphtheria); 
 (3) DHS, MICS, Recent household surveys; 
 (4) Dataset related maps of catchment areas or poor urban communities including the health facilities 
(public, private, CSOs) within these areas providing immunization services 
 (5) Qualitative information could complement existing the above quantitative data. Note: This GIS platform will be adapted to build a simple web interface for users to easily interact with the data integration and analytic framework.

The GIS project aims to serve wide range of EPI actors. Thus MAHA Shared Service team will engage multiple stakeholders in a systematic manner: ●“Clients”: Main beneficiaries/in-country GIS end-users will be Urban Operations Planning, Medical, Logistics & Supply chain, Epidemiology and Communication units of the EPI program in urban settings. ●National EPI team and Members of the Interagency Coordination Committee (ICC) ●Partners: partnership engagement with DHIS2 team & Country Statistic Service

How is your idea unique? (750 characters)

The Integrated GIS platform can be viewed as a GIS based communication tool for immunization activity planning that takes into account the EPI monitoring map (See project EPI monitoring Map) and static map (See project Static Maps for REC strategy) as already made available. The Integrated GIS platform will be a user-friendly, central online platform for GIS products through which ICC members and EPI field staff can visualize and analyse data and access enhanced GIS services. Mapping and Analytics for Health Activities (MAHA), is a new French start up linking public health and information technology since March 2018. MAHA was contracted to provide innovative GIS Services to Ghana Health Service in 2018 with funding from GAVI. MAHA is providing GIS and mapping services in the framework of a “Technical Assistance for development of National health care delivery system optimization plan for the Kyrgyz Republic (Master Plan)” led by a German consulting firm, namely Management for Health (M4H) funded by World Bank.
