Implementation - a 5th dimension to "My Design Quotient"

The OpenIDEO "My Design Quotient" already measures Inspiration, Concepting, Evaluation and Collaboration Perhaps Implementors should also be recognised and encouraged.

Everybody has strengths and weaknesses.

In the context of innovation some people are great storytellers, some are creatives, some love to evaluate the ideas of others and some are good helpers and collaborators.

But nothing actually turns into reality unless we have another type of innovator; the "Doer" the "Implementor"....the folks who make things happen.

So lets recognise this strength in people and also when they exhibit it by making an OpenIDEO concept come into reality.

What kind of social impact does this concept achieve?

The online OpenIDEO community is global, so this has global potential.

What skills are required to take this concept forward?

The current four measures in the Design Quotient work perfectly because they recognise contributions made online, specifically within OpenIDEO. But implementation will by definition take place 'outside' OpenIDEO. We would need to rely on OpenIDEOers to share their successes or the successes of others.

How do you envision this concept being supported financially?

This would require effort from OpenIDEO moderators. I'm not aware if they are already financially supported or not, but if they are then there would be pro rata increase in cost.
