Party with a Purpose: Bone Marrow

This concept is a mere suggestion to partner with an organization called Party with a Purpose. The proposed event to this organization would be for Bone Marrow Donation awareness. The event would address all the barriers to donating through presentation, statistics, a short film, and talk from family members who have been affected by someone donating to their bone marrow.

Throughout the nation these parties could be held. After an hour or so of socializing and mingling against a backdrop of music played by live local bands that support this cause, a presentation will be given. The presentation will address the problem, the importance of donating, and how easy it is to donate, and stories of families from who have been affected when people don't donate. (I believe this will add an element and strike a chord with people, perhaps inspiring them to get registered by the end of the event). In fact if it weren't an issue, perhaps a person beforehand going to donate bone marrow is video taped throughout the process at a high level of course, but sharing their raw reactions at every milestone so the audience can really free themselves of all the barriers holding them back from donating.

In addition, there would be several brochures and pamphlets on why and how people can go about donating.

By the end of the evening people will be able to take home gift bags where a donor discount card is given as described in the Sara's concept, along with Lick it stick it gear from Mani's concept, and more sweeten the deal lollipops to be shared with friends and family members as described in Haiyen's concept. This way people can continue spreading the word after the party is done and over with.
