Make it Personal - See & Learn about the Patients
A brief showing of a missing child's photo with info like - Mickey Mouse, 5 years old, last seen on Jan 3rd, 2001, wearing a red shirt etc - at the end of news or some TV programs always catch my attention. Seeing the picture and learning something about a child makes everything feel so real, and makes me want to help. How about a similar campaign for people in need of bone marrow transplant.
A brief showing of a patient's photo at the end of News or TV programs: "Mickey Mouse, 10 years old, wants to be a doctor when he grows up, needs to find a donor, before he can celebrate his next birthday. Will you please help him?". Or "Minnie Mouse, 30 years old, a single mother of two, will not be able to attend her son's graduation, if she can not find a donor. Will you please help her?" Something like this can be very powerful that can: 1) motivate immediate contribution, and 2) raise the awareness.
