A cornerstone of the Ripple Effect initiative was a three day design thinking workshop. This facilitated 5 water providers to come up with social business solutions for their own contexts – pursuing product, service and business avenues.
Check out the video which included outreach initiatives like showing projections of water issues in villages, mobile distribution & comments about empowering entrepreneurs. The great thing about Ripple Effect is that it encouraged *local* solutions for local challenges – engaging those who have a strong understanding of what's happening on the ground. It's a great example of innovating *with, not for* communities. Let's think about formats which nurture transformative local action at the intersection of health and low-income communities elsewhere!
(And a shout-out to my buddies & occasional collaborators at Quicksand in India who produced the fab video!)
