This is a Youth scheme in southern africa. Meant to teach the skills of lots of topics in one project. Entrepreneurial and design skills are taught mixed with courses to teach about prevention of HIV, teen pregnancies, drug abuse.
Local environment is helped by the collection of plastic bags, awareness is spreading about how bad it is to dump trash in nature.
Holistic approach is necessary to tie in all parts of the reality of these youths. Sustainable economics! And put a trust in people that they can  do it!

And if the manufactured product is small, cheap, handmade and fun - anyone in the whole world is a prospective customer. Could be developed into producing any type of designed product if it is small enough to send by mail.
Could possible open up a channel for customers to design unique jewelry, decide size, colour, and they send the sketch to a manufacturer that search for materials and produce the item.
