My other idea of making food dyes has a science component and I wanted to extend that idea to older kids.
I am a big fan of Amy Franchesini and various Futureframers projects.
her "Botanical gameboy" project really got me excited.
I later learned that simple circits can be made from the lemons or grapefruits,even potatoes. Vegetable power comes in many forms.
I think this has some cool factor if it attached to tecnology kids and teens use daily. The same process could be used to power cell phones or MP3 player.
Students can talk about alternative energy forms, bio diesel,composting
and the way which natural foods can power our body and our world.
Age of kids. The solutions to changing kids’ eating behaviors will vary depending on their age. What works for a toddler won’t necessarily fly for a teenager, although we suspect some concepts might be appropriate for all ages—even adults!
