My healthy 'Little mommy doll'

Kids are constantly learning about responsibility as they grow up and role play is one of the ways to learn. Kids pretend to be moms and dads, they pretend to be teachers. Also having a little brother or sister makes them act responsible. The responsibility of being a role model, makes one responsible. A baby doll that needs to be fed healthy food will make the child responsible into preparing and eating healthy food.

What if my little mommy doll or cabbage patch kid needs to eat healthy? What if my doll needs to be fed a home cooked meal twice a week? Role play is something that we’ve all done as a kid. Anticipating to do the real thing, kids pretend to cook, pretend to be a mom or dad, pretend to educate their child mimicking what they’ve heard from their parents. Well this doll needs to eat healthy, and the kids have to prepare the food and explain to this doll why it’s good for them. The doll comes with instructions of how to eat healthy, and how to educate the doll into eating good food. It also has a line of products and recipes that will help the kids easily prepare healthy food for their baby .This will integrate cooking also. The problem is that the kitchen isn’t safe. The supermarket will have a corner selling the doll along with a corner where they sell food ingredients with simple and safe recipies that will help kids cook avoiding using knives, pans and pots. Pre-cut ingredients in small sizes, safe knives, half processed batter that the kids can put the ingredients in and microwave can help them make food easily. When they buy the ingredients for the baby at the supermarket, each of the ingredients have points for each food group so the kids can have a weekly check up of the baby’s health; weight, body fat & BMI and also their own body’s weight, body fat & BMI. The kids will be complimented about their dolls health determined by the points of the ingredients that they have bought in each food group during a time window. This will not only encourage the kids to eat and prepare healthy food, but it will also educate the parents how to teach their kids into eating healthy. And when the kids have outgrown their dolls? Hopefully, they will still have the habit of cooking twice a week with the easily preparable ingredients and easy recipes.

Age of kids. The solutions to changing kids’ eating behaviors will vary depending on their age. What works for a toddler won’t necessarily fly for a teenager, although we suspect some concepts might be appropriate for all ages—even adults! Which age bracket does your concept address (tick all relevant boxes)?

  • Pre-school (Tots) 2-4
  • Elementary (Kids) 5-10

Hurdles to success. Helping kids make smarter food choices comes with a variety of hurdles that have to be addressed in order for a design solution to be successful, which of these do you think that your Concept overcomes (tick all relevant boxes)?
