Just a friend
How to raise awerness? Well, you could simply educate the kids which means that in the end they are all alone with all that new information. Educate the parents is of course one way but might be hard due to adults lack of time. Do it with a friend that knows what you feel at all times and that´ll be happy if you eat healthy and excersice.
The Concept is very simple: It´s a fact that kids spend more times online than ever before. In some cases there whole social life is moved from real world onto the web. If this is a good thing or not isn´t up to me to decide but it does provide us with some new exciting possibilities.
In the toilet of every home there will be sensors measuaring the color of the urin plus the PH-level within the urin. How this will work is not my area of expertise but I´ve been told that color and PH-level is fairly easy to measure.
However, this information will be sent to a server that stores the information over time and that will monitor the trends of the childrens physical status.
To see the information, and of course suggestions on how to feel better you log on to a website. It´s the children who´s suppose to log in so the information won´t be presented in booring graphs or anything like that. This is what will happen:
When the kids log on to the website they will meet their digital friend. Every kid has it´s individual friend that can be in a shape of a horse, a hippo, an action figure or something else. It´s up to the kid to design and to colour the friend. The friend will either be happy or sad depending on the kids physical status and will inform the kid about good or bad food and what conequenses every choice of food will have. Notice that this friend already know what the kid are lacking in terms of vitamins etc. etc.
Of course there is a virual world where all the kids friends can meet up and talk to eachother, sharing tips and helt eachother design their avatar friends.
In other words: This avatar is the kid. Like a tamaguchi within youself
Age of kids. The solutions to changing kids’ eating behaviors will vary depending on their age. What works for a toddler won’t necessarily fly for a teenager, although we suspect some concepts might be appropriate for all ages—even adults! Which age bracket does your concept address (tick all relevant boxes)?
Hurdles to success. Helping kids make smarter food choices comes with a variety of hurdles that have to be addressed in order for a design solution to be successful, which of these do you think that your Concept overcomes (tick all relevant boxes)?
