I am so healthy as you are

I think the main thing for young kids is to get in contact with fresh food and vegetables. For older kids and teenagers its important to to learn about it and get further information about these things. And the most important thing: they have to see what this fresh food does to themselves? So I think you all know already tamagotchi or farmville on facebook. I think this principle could be usefull to learn more about fresh food and the benefit for yourselve.

I think the main thing for young kids is to get in contact with fresh food and vegetables. For older kids and teenagers its important to to learn about it and get further information about these things. And the most important thing: they have to see what this fresh food does to themselves?


So I think you all know already tamagotchi or farmville on facebook. I think this principle could be usefull to learn more about fresh food and the benefit for yourselve.


There could be different forms of implementation, but the idea is you have a charackter that symbolizes yourselve. And you have a big choice of food you can give to the character. Then you can feed the character similar to yourselve, when you eat a banana, you feed your character with a banana, when you eat a steak, you´ll feed it with a steak. The Character will react to this. When you subsist healthy the character looks good and happy, too. When you eat bad food, the character gets ill and looks bad.


And to get a learning effect there can be lots of information around it. When you click on the foods you can see which vitamins are in there and for what they are good. When your character looks bad, because you feed him with a hamburger and fries he tells you what he need to get better. ("Please give me some fruits, I need vitamins.")


When you feed your character for a week or two or maybe longer you will get a feeling for healthy living.


The solution for younger kids could be a pocket game (like tamagotchi with a bigger screen)


The solution for older kids or teenager could be a facebookapplication or an iphone-app, a programm for your computer or any other onlineapplication.

Age of kids. The solutions to changing kids’ eating behaviors will vary depending on their age. What works for a toddler won’t necessarily fly for a teenager, although we suspect some concepts might be appropriate for all ages—even adults! Which age bracket does your concept address (tick all relevant boxes)?

  • Young adults 18-21
