Colleges could alleviate the tuition problem, by having certain departments connected to businesses that are in their field, and let students work for them as part of their tuition and to gain experience.
This idea is to do something similar to the school the Ozarks. https://www.cofo.edu/Page/Admissions/Financial-Aid/Tuition-and-Fees.362.html.
This school provides paid tuition to its students. By having students work throughout the year, on campus, for their tuition.
We could take this model and mold it into something better, by connecting different departments of the university with companies and businesses for their respected fields.Have students work in their field of choice for experience and tuition.
This will benefit the school, students and companies. It will help the schools to be more financially secure and attractive to both students and companies. Students will practice what they learn, get experience, and get their tuition paid. Companies and businesses will have good labor, and have the first pick of students they see potential in. Also it would be a social benefit, because less people would be unemployed.
The alumni from their named departments "manage" or "look over" each project or business in the college. So that the responsibility does not fall to heavily on the professors, and the overseers have the connections and ability to keep the relations with the businesses healthy.
