Audience: High School Students
Challenge: Lack of Hands On Experience in any particular career area, lack of knowledge about demand for certain professions, options available and cost versus benefit for studying for any particular major/degree.
Solution: Create a one day agreements with High Schools and Employers to organize fun and exciting hands on, one day long tours to expose students to companies, career opportunities and professions in demand. Goal- help students to learn about in demand careers in the area and what it is like to work in those professions.
Outcome: Well informed, confident high school students, making thoughtful decisions based on cultural fit, individual career aspirations, education and time needed to obtain qualifications and compensation opportunities available for the careers tracks.
How would this work:
High School Students would sign up for a tour by purchasing Epic Career Tour tickets on Eventbrite ( low cost affordable). The tour will be sponsored by employers and include following feature: bussing to and from three companies locations, quick overview (video )of the companies, factory tour, q&a session, quick networking and lunch etc..
I would love to hear feedback about the idea and how it could be improved..
Would you sign up your high school student for a Epic Career Tour? Why or Why Not?
How might we help our students to make more through full decisions?
