Who is the target audience for your idea and how does it reimagine the cost of college?

Individual investors, education funds or Syndicates would raise money online and invest in people with different strategies. Those financiers would have LIQUIDITY, RISK REDUCTION and can profit from the APPRECIATION of their stocks.

One of the main problems we have been experiencing in getting investors to fund people´s dreams at Edudream (www.edudream.co) is the lack of Liquidity and the perceived risk of doing the investment.

By creating a "stock market", those investors could:

(1) sell their stocks to third party, having liquidity.

(2) Group their money in pools to invest in different markets with different strategies, creating portifolio strategies and reducing risk.

What early, lightweight experiment can you try out in your own community to find out if the idea will meet your expectations?

Invest in one person.

What skills, input or guidance from the OpenIDEO community would be most helpful in building out or refining your idea?

Feedback on the idea.

Wow very unique concept! My only question is: How are stock holders supposed to evaluate specific individuals and their background especially with such a massive number of students in college?

The idea has a great potential and looks like a good bridge between money from investors and students seeking it. If the risk involved in this type of investment is completely nullified, it surely looks like a good model. I didn't clearly get the idea whether its investment on one individual or group of individuals or rather the educational institution itself. If individual, I am a little skeptical about the risks for student as well.

Good job! That is a really creative idea! That would be very interesting, people investing in others educations. It would be fun to see an idea like this being implemented.
