Who is the target audience for your idea and how does it inspire the end user to lead a healthier life?
The target audience for this idea is broad. The humble hashtag is used by people young and old, on numerous social networks, accessed on a wide array of devices. The hashtag is flexible, powerful and useable by communities from diverse socioeconomic and multicultural backgrounds.
Hashtag's are already used to link communities around specific passions and interests. It offers the perfect way to quickly find and share inspiration and information based around healthier lifestyles.
This idea came from the Manchester OpenIDEO meetup team.
What early, lightweight experiment can you try out in your own community to find out if the idea will meet your expectations?
It would also be quick and easy to start creating and tagging content based around healthy choices to test the initial response within our own online communities. Lo-fi methods of promoting the hashtag in physical spaces could also be used, such as stickers, flyers etc.
Ideally we would want some way of tracking the uptake and use of the chosen hashtag to see how well it is initially adopted and propagated.
A diary study around selection of meals & eating habits would be interesting.
What skills, input or guidance are you keen to connect with from the OpenIDEO community to help you build out or refine your idea?
As this idea is low-cost and easy to implement, it would be great to trial its impact in locations around the world.
It would also be great to get input on how to meaningfully measure engagement on social media.
Input around varying use of the hashtag in other countries/languages would also be of interest.
