Who is the target audience for your idea and how does it inspire the end user to lead a healthier life?

Imagine walking home after work, passing by a fast food chain, and catching that tempting waft of french fries, but before you can rush in, you get a buzz from your wrist or pocket. It's a notification displaying a link to an article about the health risks of fast food and some ideas for healthy recipes for when you get home. Those fries are not so tempting anymore. This application would target anyone with a location aware device to promote healthy choices.

Context can be very important in making healthy lifestyle choices. We can read all about something but if the information isn't presented at the right time, it can have little impact on the choices we make. The idea behind this application is to present the most relevant health information in the most relevant places.

With a mobile application users can tag geo-locations with health experiences and information to present other users with relevant information in the moment, and help them make healthy choices. Anytime a user is somewhere where they are presented with a choice they can make a quick note that will tag the location. At that time, or later they can describe the choice they were making and provide details about the healthy option. Next time a user ends up in the same location, they will get a notification and see the stories of previous users. The application could have an element of gamification as well, users can "like" stories left by other users, and tagging locations with useful information could earn points and achievements. The app could promote an active lifestyle as well by creating challenges from the stories. Related to the walk to lunch idea, around lunch time a notification could pop up saying, "walk 20 minutes to lunch" with some social motivation like "15 others have completed this challenge," and suggestions left by others for where to go. Or users could create their own challenges like tagging certain locations only accessible by walking like the middle of a park or a shoreline.

Points could accrue just for bragging rights, or for special "membership" type rewards. For example, having a certain number of points gets you access to an special food tasting session or cooking lesson.  Exclusive experiential rewards that may be more valuable than frequent discounts.

The content generated via the app can also be useful outside of it. More fleshed out experiences can be displayed on a website or turned into videos. Or the data from the app could be leveraged to more broadly to understand how individuals make certain decisions.

What early, lightweight experiment can you try out in your own community to find out if the idea will meet your expectations?

The application could be developed as a prototype quickly and distributed to a small community of enthusiasts to gather feedback and iterate.

What skills, input or guidance are you keen to connect with from the OpenIDEO community to help you build out or refine your idea?

How to solve the challenge of content creation/consumption? Most people will want to consume notifications but few will contribute.

I like how you drew the picture when we come out from work hungry and we don't care what to eat, I know myself I would be very tired to read an article about food (since Ive been working all day) but I would love if I get suggestion where to get healthy food based on my location !.
