What challenges or opportunities are you trying to address within the problem? (200 characters or less)

* Strengthening the mind, body and spirit to minimise the effects and reoccurrence of a fall. * Reducing medication related issues pre and post fall.

Many elderly who sustain debilitating fractures normally have several pre-existing comorbidities. If we could strengthen their systems holistically and not compartmentalise disease we have a stronger chance of health promotion. Yoga is a science which has proven to increase cognitive awareness, muscle tone, and a stronger connection to self, leading to an improved quality of life. It reduces stress and produces a sense of wellbeing. Many elderly who have experienced a fall will normally have a limited range of movement post fall, as well as struggling with depression, anxiety and loss of confidence. Kirtan Kriya by utilising only your fingers and the sound of your voice makes it very accessible to almost anyone. Please refer to the benefits attached below. The body is designed to naturally heal itself if provided with the right conditions or environment to do so. Most disease states originate from inflammation which is also connected to emotions. If we can assist the emotional body, we can reduce the physical symptoms borne by them.

Kirtan Kriya utilises mudras to achieve balance within the body. The practice also helps balance the energy centres of the body, for example the water element (which we are largely composed of) by alleviating conditions caused by a lack of water or any kind of dryness in the body. https://www.spiritrisingyoga.org/kundalini-info/kundalini-yoga-for-elders

How is your idea scaleable? (650 characters or less)

On a broader level, considering the current costs of our health care system relating to disease management, whether pharmaceutically based or hospital admissions, if we could address the underlying causes of the disease process, we could reduce costs assocated with preventable hospital admissions and as well out of pocket expenses for the individual, which in turn reduces national health budgets associated with disease management. https://www.rand.org/pubs/research_briefs/RB5028/index1.html https://www2.health.vic.gov.au/hospitals-and-health-services/patient-care/older-people/medication/medication-and-ageing
