Seniors at risk of bone density loss

I suggest that we do more to strengthen the whole of the family by keeping seniors entact within their family unit instad of isolating them.

What challenges or opportunities are you trying to address within the problem? (200 characters or less)

Growing up and moving on, is the American way We Isolate our seniors and they take risks because no family is around It would be healthier to keep families intact with less number of broken bones

I work with seniors daily I watch them stumble and sometimes all most fall If we as a culture would change our indctrination of "Family - grow up, get good education and good job and move on" But encourge family to stay intact as it was in the past. We would have less seniors falling and medical expenses would be lessoned.  I believe we are doing a disservice to our senior and to our families by this type of ideology. Instead, we should tell our children, "Yes, grow up, Get a good education so you can get a good job and continue to be part of the family living close to your family." This takes us to a whole new mind set, but in the end seniors will live a healthier life and so will their children as they grow up and are successful.

Who is your target end user and why will they be interested? (650 characters or less)

Target end user, is the family - which is core to a successful and healthy country.

Midwest region

Innovator/Organizational Characteristics

How did you hear about the Challenge?

  • Homework assignment

Why are you participating in this Challenge?

I have a homework assignment, that had to be completed. I have thought about this almost daily as I go to seniors homes that live by themselves and no one to help them through the day. It is time that we retrain our families what they are meant to be and that is a family, not scattered throughout the nation. We feel bad when our seniors fall and hurt themselves then we are forced to take care of them after they cannot do for themselves This is backwards and must be changed.
