Thank You Notes

Most people view thank you notes as excessive, however, they leave a lasting impression on the receiver of the note.

Thank you notes are often seen as an older tradition, a formality and excessive at most. However, they do serve a very important function even though they are fading from existence. Most times, I have received them after doing business with someone such as an independent retailer, a service provider or a company that definitively wants you to know that they are very grateful for your business. When people receive these thank you notes, it makes them feel special, unique and can brighten their day by letting them know that someone does appreciate them and they took the time to write them a note. I send out handwritten thank you notes every year to my family members to thank them for either gifts or just even to say hello. These acts of kindness really do make a difference in showing gratitude in the world. I think that companies could do something similar to thank you notes to their staff members that would make them feel beyond appreciated and welcomed in the workplace.
