After taking the quiz and noting that there are areas for our organization where we are on the right path - taking time during meetings to recognize a co-workers for helping on a project or other work related item, putting in place recognition systems, etc.
One piece that stuck out is that much of the focus has been on customer service (which is important) and feeling gratitude from our clients and customers, but putting something official in place to turn that gratitude inward to those doing the work has been missing.
Individuals are recognized for large achievements but there hasn't been a place for small thanks and every-day gratitude.
There is always room for improvement.
In the past years, there has been a shift towards a more rounded wellness approach in our organization with introduction of a 21 Days of Happiness program (happiness meditation or mantra for 21 days), Financial Wellness program, and year long Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction program. I believe we are poised and ready to take the next step to improving social wellness that comes with the interaction required when expressing gratitude. Bringing a platform to employees where they can express gratitude to their co-workers and then share that with the individual and other who might be inspired. Creating a living gratitude journal.
