Reflections on how to affect change in a high intensity organisation

Working in an organisation that only recognises people when they do something extraordinary it is easy to fall into the pattern yourself. High intensity and fast paced work cultures can lead to employees going over and above the requirements of their role to be expected and pass by without recognition.

Culture plays a huge role in how gratitude is expressed in the workplace and while setting out to alter a whole organisations culture can be a daunting task, change starts with one person and an individual can make a difference. Focusing on positive reinforcement and recognition within a small team can cause ripple effects to the larger organisation.
