The past summer, I worked in a private dental clinic as an assistant or floater. I was not paid much since I am a student. Therefore, I claimed the lowest position in the business. As a young adult, I am often working under others, satisfying my boss' demands, and working to please the office. That is why I never take into consideration what my bosses are doing for me.
On this quiz, one question asked how often I say thanks to others and another questions asked how often I receive gratitude. Even though I don't receive much gratitude in the workplace, I am certainly giving less gratitude to others than I am receiving. Now I realize that this is bad because giving thanks AND receiving thanks reinforces gratitude and therefore hard work in the workplace. It is selfish of me to always work for my praise when I should be thanking my bosses for teaching and guiding me in the business.
