Gratitude Quiz Reflection

Verbal, face-to-face recognition was rated high amongst our employees.

We created a survey for our organization to take, based on the Grateful Organizations Quiz and added in a few office culture specific questions as well.

Based on these results, I found that the majority of our employees feel that they are being thanked and appreciated (100% of the respondents answered they had been a recipient of gratitude at work), and that the gratitude they are receiving is sincere (83% answered often or always sincere). We asked staff what form of recognition they preferred and the highest rated response was ‘verbally – words of affirmation’.

One area that we can work on, is to have more face-to-face verbal recognition, instead of the time-specific end of month intranet shout outs. Staff also feel that the leaders at OpenRoad take their time to express gratitude to the people who contribute to the company’s success. This is very encouraging to hear and hopefully staff members will follow and see the benefit in expressing their gratitude to other co-workers, whether they are working on their team or not.
