Gratitude is the Miracle for Organizational Success and Human Resource Holistic Development

Me as a walking Medical Miracle, who beat Takayasu Arteritis with Gratitude, This is my journey from a Finance professional to a Life Coach.

The doctors had given up. I could see the anguish in the eyes of my loved ones. But I could barely walk. My entire lower body had stopped moving and I was in deep pain and the energy had very quickly dissipated from my body. I was suffering from Takayasu's Arteritis, a very rare disorder that causes inflammation of blood vessels. In my case, it was THE major vessel, the Aorta. I had been diagnosed with this condition when I was 21 but I had never been this sick.

I always had been a fighter and had big dreams to work in the finance world and make a difference. Even though this condition paralyzed the limits of what I could achieve physically, I always pushed myself to success. As per the medical condition, there was a bleak chance of having a baby. But I met the man of my dreams and now have 2 beautiful children. This was a miracle indeed but I was so busy pursuing my career goals that I never took time to breathe and express gratitude to my body and to the people around me!

I had been a busy finance professional for a decade, had a beautiful family but my health condition combined with my lack of awareness for gratitude took its toll. The disease returned with a vengeance and nothing the doctors did could help. I underwent several medical treatments and I was just bedridden with no hope for almost a year. It was during this bleak period between life and death, that I learned the POWER OF GRATITUDE. I went from a state of asking myself  "Why Me" (Victim) to a state of being Thankful for all the abundance in my life (Victor)

 It was so magical that only people who practiced this could understand the magnitude of the miracle. I started practicing the power of gratitude every single day with every ounce of energy I had left and I gradually bounced back to a healthy and normal life, aided with alternative medicine. Now I am alive, strong and more grateful than I have ever been! I am grateful for my every breath. Now My day starts  with  “ Thank you, God, I am alive”

I took my learnings as a starting point and I made it my life purpose to be a life coach for individuals and organizations alike. My mission is to touch as many lives as possible globally and bring about a global gratitude awareness.

Today I see so many people moving through their lives mechanically, just like I was a decade back. They go to work and complain about their co-workers, complain about their wages, complain about their boss etc. I then started realizing that this is a big area of focus. People spend on an average half of their lives if not more, in the workplace. Without having an "Attitude of Gratitude" at the workplace, they are constantly moving companies, losing out on the quality of life. I started working with a few organizations as well as individuals to identify the stigmas that stop co-workers from being grateful or thankful to each other. I have been able to successfully help so many individuals and organizations and I am attaching interviews from a fine subset of people for this purpose.

I would like to propose some groundbreaking ideas coupled with scientific evidence (in the ideas phase) that could really make the current work-place a more grateful place. A happy employee is the best asset for any organization and Gratitude is the best perk we can give to any employee.(courtesy:

What is a provocation or insight that might inspire others during this challenge?

Awareness is not Power. Taking Inspired Action is Power. Organizations today have many ways of expressing Gratitude including wallboards, Thank you emails and appreciation events. There are companies such as Thank Tank that offer a great way to cultivate workplace gratitude.These are all great starting points and I feel we need to build on top of that a more robust structure that encourages people to feel grateful and appreciated, every day, for the rest of their lives. It needs to almost become the mantra, given the power of gratitude and the emerging science on how it could work miracles.
