Gratitude to me, is showing your appreciation toward somebody when they do something thoughtful for you or vise versa. I believe gratitude is a very important value in life and should be something everyone values. I express gratitude through many ways. I express gratitude in words, objects, emotions, etc. I recently expressed gratitude by sending a letter to my mom thanking her for everything she's done for me and just for being an awesome mother to me. I told her I loved her and am very grateful for her. I could do this through call or text but I decided to write a letter because I feel its more personable and out of the ordinary. There was a time when I witnessed gratitude being spread and it has shaped my opinion on gratitude permanently. When I was around the age of 9, I was with my grandfather. We were walking downtown somewhere, on our way to picnic he had planned for the two of us. He packed us both a lunch and we were gonna eat at the park and then he was going to take me to play at the playground. On our way we passed a homeless man, it was then my grandpa turned around and decided to give that homeless man our lunch he packed for us and then walked away. I asked my grandpa why he had done that and he told me "sometimes in life, people need it more than you do". I will always remember those words and they have shaped me to be the man I am today. We ended up buying lunch that day, and enjoyed the day just as planned.
