Who are you innovating for?

Every person in an organization, every team within and organization, and the organization as a whole.

What type of workplaces are you innovating for?

This will work for a variety of organizational sizes and structures.

How you envision the Idea being introduced to your selected organization?

Ideally, the app is introduced through a trained, skilled, dynamic and authentic facilitator. Or introduced through a unique, engaging, short video series.

What obstacles, if any, do you foresee in implementing this Idea, and how would they be overcome?

Buy in: How to gain buy in from each participant? How to build trust? How to implement authentically? How to provide a spectrum of authentic intrinsic and extrinsic motivatirs for participation? How to build in organizational supports (time, culture, motivation, holicratic implementation)?

How will you test and prototype your solution?

Try it out in at least 3 different organizational structures. After app is created, experiment in different organizations to determine impact and ares for improvement.

What immediate next steps will you take if you receive an implementation grant.

1. Solidify piloting organizations of Gratitude Game Design app 2. Design app 3. Pay app designers 4. Develop and implement training for app in designated organizations 5. Pay trainers 6. Try it out 7. Collect data 8. Formative evaluation 9. Redesign 10. And so forth...

At what stage of development is your Idea?

  • Prototyping: You have conducted some small tests or experiments with prospective users and will continue developing idea through these tests.

Please describe from where your Idea emerged

This idea came from conglomeration of amazing personal and professional experiences with diverse populations designed to empower authentic creativity and wellbeing.

Hi Michaelene Dawson ,

Great to see you in the Challenge! Can you provide more information about the core functionality of your game? intrigued by this concept of making gratitude fun and engaging! This IDEO article about ritual and culture may be helpful to spark some Ideas https://medium.com/the-mission/designing-rituals-how-might-we-encourage-and-develop-empathy-with-our-clients-f511ad633b0c

I'm tagging in ThirdSpace and Gratigame: The Game Where the Most Grateful Win! , two concepts that integrate the concept of play and culture into their Ideas!

Also, is there any chance you could find an image to go along with it? Images help grab attention and tell a story. You should be able to use the Edit Contribution button on the top of your post and follow the instructions to add images from there.

Looking forward to seeing more of your inspiring insights on OpenIDEO.
