The one Friday meeting per month could consist of different guest speakers who would do a group activity -- including but not limited to meditation, educating workshops in nutrition, health, and/or legal services.

How the Idea will inspire the experience and expression of gratitude within an organization.
Taking the time out to engage with colleagues every Friday per month could create joy, connections, motivation, and feelings of gratitude for one another. This activity will increase interpersonal relationships between staff.
Who are you innovating for?
We are innovating for the clinicians, the administrative staff, and the clients. Staff with better interpersonal skills and a happier work environment are more likely to do better and engage more easily with clients.
What type of workplaces are you innovating for?
Our workplace is a small Non-Profit Mental Health Clinic in an urban setting -- the clinic is under-resourced, has a high volume of clients, high-stress, and a high risk population. The Organization has approximately 35 staff members.
How you envision the Idea being introduced to your selected organization?
We would have a self-appointed committee organize a meeting with a guest speaker one Friday a month. This idea will be introduced to our organization via announcements in meetings and via email announcements. Staff would be welcome to suggest ideas for further meetings.
What obstacles, if any, do you foresee in implementing this Idea, and how would they be overcome?
The obstacle would be in designating a lead person to set up and reach out to other organizations to organize these meetings. This can be overcome by possibly having some sort of reward for the staff member that organizes an event that month.
How will you test and prototype your solution?
We will do one trial meeting with a guest speaker first and then afterwards we would have workplace satisfaction and gratitude surveys to see how well these meetings are aiding in increasing gratitude.
What immediate next steps will you take if you receive an implementation grant.
If a grant is received, the first step we will take is to organize a guest speaker to come in and talk at one of the meetings. Having the opportunity to work with mentoring organizations will help in bringing the clinic closer to increasing gratitude in the workplace by incorporating a fresh new perspective on logistical situations.
