The idea is to have an online platform, Interchallenge, that creates a connection between learner teams from around the world and companies in a fun way. Using gamification methods like rewards, competence and risks, members are encourage to solve a real life problems from a company.

Through the challenge members receive online courses in different aspects and methodologies like Design Thinking, Visual Thinking, Game thinking and Lean Startup

How does it works?

A company decides to participate in Interchallenge, they subscribe (a monthly fee is require) and post their problem. One member of the company should do a follow up to the development of this problem in the platform. This member has also the right to have access to the different online courses.

Students from different disciplines  from a hight education institution (different parts of the world)  subscribe to the challenge, they gather each week to solve the weekly challenge that should be deliver at the end of the week. They will also receive a weekly course that should be apply to this challenge.

According to their performance they will get points and go through the different phases, they might also receive goodies from the companies as rewards from especial challenges. At the middle of the competition two teams are chosen to continue, one international team and one local team. With the feed paid by the company, students will be able to travel and meet their partners and continues working in the solution.

At the end of the Interchallenge, students deliver a solution to the problematic.

Who is your idea designed for and how does it reimagine higher education to support the needs of tomorrow?

This idea has two main stakeholders Students that will get skills like teamwork, problem solving, decision making. Also they will have a direct linked with the market and start to get experience. Working with international team will give them competences to face this globalized world. Company members will learn about actual methodologies, also by having a direct link with academy they will be able to actualize their knowledge in their discipline and have a fresh solution to their problems

This idea emerged from:

  • A group brainstorm
  • An OpenIDEO outpost or chapter

What skills, input or guidance from the OpenIDEO community would be most helpful in building out or refining your idea?

I will love to know what you think about the idea, if you would like to suscribe to this kind of platform. And which kind of prototypes do you suggest

What early, lightweight experiment might you try out in your own community to find out if the idea will meet your expectations?

I will like to do some workshops and figure out which kind of rewards motivates people. I will like to go forward in the idea of how might we mix an online/offline experience

Tell us about your work experience:

Im a curious Visual Design Student, i believe in the power we have of changing the world.

Hi Tatiana Martinez great idea, especially the bit for rewards. Would love to also know which kind of rewards motivate people.

It's really nice that you thought of an online platform to be able to do this. I have submitted two ideas: Solve4Work Challenge  and Integrate Design Thinking Workshops and Startup Masterclasses in Schools , which take a part of what your solution does, only that the ideas work offline. What do you think of them?

How long do you think the challenges can run?

Hi Isaac
Thanks for checking my idea, I think your ideas are great i will look at them more close to comment.
I consider challenges should be between 5-12 months I believe is the right time to learn and develop something
