Higher education institutes to partner with different industries to create a program curriculum that integrates training in both technical and employment success skills

In these programs, the students will learn employment success skills, such as project management, professional communication, conflict resolution, intercultural cooperation,  teamwork by working on real-world problems using data from industry and standardized tools employed by the industry today.

Students will be provided with instruction, one-to-one coaching, and continuous self-assessment and improvement.” The final piece of the program is a practicum in which students work on real-life problems and at the end of the program report their findings at the corporate headquarters of the company that sponsored a particular project. When students complete this program, they will not only receive job offers in something they like to work on but it will be also with higher salaries and bonuses.

Who is your idea designed for and how does it reimagine higher education to support the needs of tomorrow?

It is for universities, students, and partner companies. it is important to connect the three parties, universities would make sure students are not been abused at work, their work is related to their majors at the universities, also they can update their curriculums according to the data they collect from companies during the project life cycle. Students will benefit from working on real projects under the supervision of their universities and the company, which will get solutions for free!

This idea emerged from:

  • A group brainstorm
  • A student brainstorm
  • An individual

What skills, input or guidance from the OpenIDEO community would be most helpful in building out or refining your idea?

I'm interested to know what will be the good time frame for such collaboration, some suggested 3 months period, but I'm concerned if the project would need more time? I'm thinking of making it flexible, according to the need of each project, but students are bound to a fixed timeframe... any suggestion about this is welcomed

What early, lightweight experiment might you try out in your own community to find out if the idea will meet your expectations?

we can approach some companies with the idea and check with them if they are willing to cooperate in designing such curriculum, then we will contact the university in our city to introduce them to the idea and the interested company.
