National Food Club (NFC)

A movement on a national level with state, community, and family chapters aim to pull voices against food waste and pioneer new approaches.

There are clubs at every level of our societal life, from football clubs, reading clubs, friendship clubs, VIP clubs, and even forums on the Internet. Why shouldn't there be a food club? It is as important as having the people who will handle food waste challenges.

Imagine how you feel when you are eating with other persons, you then to be emotional and eat more. This has been explained scientifically in many ways. The National Food Club proposes people offer to start up state chapters of the food club under the national food club in every country. At the international level, national presidents will meet at a certain period to discuss international best practices to food waste on a global level with attendance (by invitation) of key global officials crucial to the discuss. The clubs will

-protect the interest of food producers and consumers;

-create a monthly meeting movement;

-share excess food stuff to those who have none;

-discuss at each meeting approaches to reduce food waste;

-make recommendations to appropriate national government agencies on issues relating to food;

-hold food-eating contests and probably give prizes in order to incentivize people on the importance of eating;

-provide catering and culinary tips on making gourmet recipe that people will love to try always;

-national levels will carry out researches and release data on food handling and managing food spoilage;

-develop technologies to manage food waste e.g mobile apps, web apps, etc;

-create a food UNWASTE website to inform and teach best handling, 

-and lot of other issues to be handled.

What early, lightweight experiment might you try out in your own community to find out if the idea will meet your expectations?

Talk to a team of people from various spheres (business, religious, social, political, medical, financial, legal, etc) to get their opinion about how this idea flows with their industry. Suggested validations from this groups will also be tried out.

What skills, input or guidance from the OpenIDEO community would be most helpful in building out or refining your idea?

A list of suggested activities or features to be included in the National Food Club programs will go a long way to define the initial strategy. I am banking on the suggestions of the OpenIDEO community to include aspects that will relate to individual's nationality. All suggestions are welcomed.

A Computer Scientist, Certified Global Social Entrepreneur, award-winning business innovator, CEO, internationally published author. Have been busy building products to make people's lives better. I have work in design, entrepreneurship, and projects in the legal field, food processing, ICT, etc. My food processing company have existed for over 7+ years.
