Lead Applicant: In what city or town are you located?

Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria.

Lead Applicant: In what country are you located?

Nigeria

Your Selected Place: what’s the name of the Place you’re developing a Vision for?

Plateau State, Nasarawa State, Benue State and Abuja Capital City, are located in north central Nigeria, covers a total area of 99,404 km^2.

What country is your selected Place located in?

Nigeria

Describe your relationship to the place you’ve selected.

There is a unique history between Plateau, Benue, and Nasarawa States; before the split, they all were known as the Benue-Plateau with Jos as their capital. its was then split into Plateau and Benue States on February 3rd 1976 with Jos and Makurdi as their respective capitals. On October 1st 1996, Nasarawa was formed out of Plateau State with Lafia as its capital. Despite the split, they all have their cultural heritages and values interwoven and traceable to present day Plateau State.

Abuja capital shares boundaries with these three states. The thriving civic development trend in Abuja has seen most of its arable lands given to real estate and other infrastructural amenities. Hence food production within Abuja is insufficient as not much commercial farming is done. The trio of Plateau, Benue and Nasarawa States, supply a large chunk of the food consumed in Abuja. Thus there is a high level of inter-dependency and synergy between all four (Plateau, Benue, Nasarawa States and Abuja capial) and as such could be grouped as a single unit.

Ephod Communications Ltd has its base in Jos the capital of Plateau State, we have a dream of using cutting edge technology to service prevailing challenges in the society. A popular saying goes "Charity begins at home", Ephod Communications in a bid to achieve her dream feat seeks to begin with its environment which spans across the chosen locations.

Describe the People and Place: Provide information that would be helpful for an outsider who has never been there and may have no context about this Place to better understand the area.

Plateau State is celebrated as "The Home of Peace and Tourism". With natural formations of rocks, hills and waterfalls, it derives its name from the Jos Plateau.

Although the state is best known for its mining production, agriculture is the major occupation of the people. Sorghum, millet, rice, and acha (a grain known as hungry rice) are the chief staple crops in the area, but neighbouring farmers also cultivate cash crops (yams, potatoes, cassava [manioc], corn [maize], and green vegetables) for the Jos market.

Benue State is one of the central area states in Nigeria, It is inhabited predominantly by the Tiv, Idoma and Igede peoples, who speak Tiv, Idoma, and Igede languages respectively. Its capital is Makurdi.

Benue State is named after the Benue River and was formed from the former Benue-Plateau State in 1976, along with Igala and some part of Kwara State. In 1991 some areas of Benue state (mostly Igala area), along with areas in Kwara State, were carved out to become part of the new Kogi State.

Benue State is the nation's acclaimed "Food Basket" because of its rich agricultural produce which include Yam, Rice, Beans, Cassava, Sweet-potato, Maize, Soybean, Sorghum, Millet, Groundnuts, Sesame, Cocoyam etc. The state accounts for over 70% of Nigeria's Soya bean production.

Nasarawa State situated in north central zone of Nigeria Latitude: 8° 32' 20.22" N Longitude: 7° 42' 29.56" E, with a land mass of 27,117 km^2, It’s capital is Lafia. Nasarawa was created on 1 October 1996 by from the today neighboring. It is referred to as "The Home of Solid Minerals"

Plateau State. Nasarawa State is home to the Farin Ruwa Falls in Wamba Local Government area of the state.

Nasarawa State has agriculture as the mainstay of its economy with the production of varieties of cash crops throughout the year. Nasarawa is a market center for the yams, sorghum, millet, soybeans, shea nuts, and cotton grown in the surrounding area. The town is served by a secondary school and a hospital. It contains various minerals such as salt, baryte, and bauxite, which are mostly mined by artisanal miners.

The Federal Capital Territory Abuja, commonly known as FCT, is a federal territory in central Nigeria. Abuja, the capital city of Nigeria, is located in this territory. FCT was formed in 1976 from parts of the states of old Kwara, Niger, Kaduna and Plateau States with the bulk of landmass carved out of Niger State. It is within the Middle Belt region of the country.

The territory is located just north of the confluence of the Niger River and Benue River. It is bordered by the states of Niger to the West and North, Kaduna to the northeast, Nasarawa to the east and south and Kogi to the southwest.

The Federal Capital Territory has a landmass of approximately 7,315 km2, and it is situated within the Savannah region with moderate climatic conditions. The major occupants are predominantly Gbagyi by tribe. Very little farming activity occurs in Abuja, crops grown include yams, corn and millet. Minerals found in the FCT include marble, tin, clay, mica, and tantalite.
