GHRF Directors have put plans in place that will help them practice Value Addition by launching a standard and world – class maize processing and feeds factory within the first three years of officially running their project investments. They will process and package maize and ensure that they supply food to the markets in Mukono, Kampala Districts, other urban centers and external markets.
GHRF leaders want to compete with the best in the Value Addition and Commercial Production basing on the facts that;
1. They have proposed this project to be owned and run by women who will be involved in the purchase of Maize grains from farmers and transport it to the Maize Mill for carrying on Value Addition.
2. They will also hire some key employees who will be undergoing training so as to fit into the ideal picture of the 21st century commercial production standards demanded at Regional and External Markets.
3. They aim at commercial production to service tenders and to sustain big markets.
4. They want to excel in service delivery and attract nearby maize processors to apply their Staff consultancy services and experts they will be working with at their Mill.

The project aims at redressing the problem of excess demand for fine processed maize flour and absorbing the surplus household maize seeds as seed raw input hence rift the purchase process and sales power to benefit members and the stakeholders in the maize growing business in districts reached.
In villages where GHRF has reached, many farmers grow a lot of maize which is purchased very cheaply by the produce buyers, who keep exploiting farmers and make them fail to get value for their time and input in the farming business. The project will purchase maize at reasonable prices and at the same time assist some farmer’s process maize at reasonable costs to enable them market maize flour instead of maize seeds.

Full Vision: How do you describe your Vision for a regenerative and nourishing food future for your Place and People for 2050?
The choice of plant recommended may use of Diesel Operated Machines to reduce costs and to ensure efficiency of production since its reported that at times Mukono suffers power cuts.
The Machines quoted are from CHINA HUANGPAI FOOD MACHINES (U) LIMITED. The Technical Team has expressed willingness to sell the machines and equipment’s to GHRF, Install the machines and train staff how to operate the machines accordingly.
(1) The machines as quoted have real necessary Horse Powers preferable which are more efficient, readily available and their spares are obtainable.
(2) The power needed for serving the project machines with three phase power supply will be generated by recommended diesel engines as quoted in the Budget. That will make the project guarantee cheaper and convenient production.
(3) The plant output will be processed maize flour, maize bran, packed processed for the local market and for export.
(4) Produced also will be the animal and birds feeds for feeding the poultry and raised animals at the site.
(5) The major input will be maize, bran supplied by the farmers in the area of operations while the raw materials for feeds will be purchased from the lake shores.
(6) The Installment will also render animal feed for industry within the district.
5. Regulated quality flour of grades A and B C will be produced. Flour residue as a by-product will be turned into animal feed industry within Kampala district.
The major input material will be maize used bought from farmers upcountry. The supply of maize is expected to be all the year round since holds do store maize and dispose it from time to time.
The project will also stock pile the seed for use inter- seasonally. Thus the plant operate all year round.
The plant is planned to run at 8 hours a day and its expected maximum physical capacity is 72,000 bags per annum i.e. 20 bags produced per a day on average. Estimated feasible machine output is 25.000 kg per day which is 980.000 kg per annum while the expected maximum out put is 750,000 kg per annum.
