Being a multiracial country, Malaysia has been well-positioned as a food paradise. The label is by no means a mere accident; however, it is due to the synergistic effect brought by the intermingling of the various ethnic groups. In addition, the country is further enriched by culinary heritage it shares with neighbouring countries and regions. Amid rapid modernization, the country still manages to hold on to her proud heritage. As a result, Malaysia is one of the few places where one could find an amalgamation of flavours and varieties of heritage food, which stands a living proof of the famous motto Malaysia, Truly Asia. In 2016, Malaysia consisted of a population of 31.7 million, and Bumiputera made up the majority of the population with 68.8%, followed by Chinese at 23.4%, Indians at 7%, and others at 1%.

We want to nurture and inspire people to embark on a new era of food technology that focuses on sustaining the quality of food we consume and at the same time reducing our environmental footprints through our waste reduction programme.

Lauk is currently building a supply chain network that will help connect between consumer, food producer and the independent merchant-trade company to grow and scale their operation. The idea behind this is to improve efficiency, transparency and sustainability in the food industry.

Our goal is to change the modern human culinary behaviour by providing a much healthy and quality lifestyle whilst maintaining the taste and freshness of local products and delicacies.
Full Vision: How do you describe your Vision for a regenerative and nourishing food future for your Place and People for 2050?
The advanced agriculture and food industry in 2050 will sustain the local community through job creation which allows the local community to participate and grow the economic sector.
Smart nutrition will turn traditional and specialised nutrition to become obsolete. Harmful food additive will no longer be allowed on consumer products. Community is able to live healthily with affordable nutritious food that has reduced the number of Non-Communicative Diseases (NCDs) in Klang Valley.
Through the advancement of computing and research tools. The technology that is serving the ecosystem able to replicate the configuration and best practice which easily be applied to a different market.
Government food policy will no longer be focusing on solving health issues. Local food production has reduced the import bill for food products.
