Describe your relationship to the place you’ve selected.
The places I have selected are facing water scarcity and the agriculture is becoming a challenge. We need to save water for future generation.
For current generation, improved agricultural production will provide more jobs and food , also balancing this with saving water , will be an added advantage.
Our product, cocopeat, is a soil conditioner , it improves water holding capacity of the soil and reduces the water evaporation. These features combined will indirectly help in improving the ground water levels.
The deserts, the hot countries and the highly populated countries , as targeted needs the product more. It will help the people around and live stocks too.
Describe the People and Place: Provide information that would be helpful for an outsider who has never been there and may have no context about this Place to better understand the area.
As suggested, we are focusing on areas which have
- Hot weather
With a land provided, using the biodegradable product we can improve agricultural conditions and by composting of wet waste as a organic fertilizer we can reduce the emission of gases which directly effect climate change.
Also by improving crop yields, we will be able to generate more jobs and promote the local crops hence bringing health and wealth back to these places.
Improved quality of food products directly impacts the health and the economic growth of the people around.
With growing population, we need more quality food and more water too.
No community can survive without water.
We are suggesting a product which can indirectly impact in improving the ground level of waters.
What is the estimated population (current 2020) in your Place?
Challenges: Describe the current (2020) and the future (2050) challenges that your food system faces.
