I leave in the place as a community organizer and as developmental guide for the organization.
Describe the People and Place: Provide information that would be helpful for an outsider who has never been there and may have no context about this Place to better understand the area.
The people are mostly maginalized upland farmers mixed indigenous people staple food rice, vegetables fish and livestock composed of small family farms.
What is the estimated population (current 2020) in your Place?
Challenges: Describe the current (2020) and the future (2050) challenges that your food system faces.
The challeges are to be liberated from the existing food production matrix that is pro multinational using pesticides and inorganic nutrients and hybrid seeds.Production of livestock are dependent on commercial feeds. A type of food matrix that exploits the farmers.
Address the Challenges: Describe how your Vision will address the challenges described in the previous question.
My vision would try to liberate the farmers by producing open pollinated varieties, and the use of organic systems in terms of plant nutrients and pest control. Production of livestock by planting nutritional plants that are indigenous to the place, for feeds. production of medicinal, plant supplements for both human and livestock consumption.
High Level Vision: With these challenges addressed, now provide a high level description of how the Place and the lives of its People will be different than they are now.
Food production would be focused on the local needs of the population. The people should be able to produce organic food coming from organically produced plants and livestock. Though a plant based nutritional system would be encourage. but eating meat would not be prohibited. This would encourage the maximum use of our land, water and photosynthetic resource since our climate is tropical, wherein are photosynthetic ability is 365 days with 2 seasons wet and dry.
Full Vision: How do you describe your Vision for a regenerative and nourishing food future for your Place and People for 2050?
Since a type of agroforestry would be the focus of the vision it would promote the protection of environment and the use of organic systems in producing a plant base nutrition would be leveling up our health system by proper nutrition and the avoidance of processed food.
