Abuja

Lead Applicant: In what country are you located?

Nigeria

Your Selected Place: what’s the name of the Place you’re developing a Vision for?

North Central Nigeria

What country is your selected Place located in?

Nigeria

Describe your relationship to the place you’ve selected.

I live in this area with my wife and kids, there is huge population growth in the area as the capital Abuja happens to be here, the farmers are ageing and not being replaced by the younger ones.

We also have large number of migrants from different parts of the country, with large disparities in food types.

Describe the People and Place: Provide information that would be helpful for an outsider who has never been there and may have no context about this Place to better understand the area.

Abuja and the entire North Central has so many tribes, and so is the food types and traditions, Hausa is predominantly spoken by the locals,

The Climate is awesome and allows for a variety of farming activities.  Livestocks are grown by families in their backyard.

The capital of Nigeria Abuja, is making the area highly dense.

The locals are quite accommodating and Lands can easily be accessed for farming.

The food and groceries market in this area is over $40billion annually.

There's over 25%post harvest wastes, while over 80% of people spend more than 70% of their income on food alone.

What is the approximate size of your Place, in square kilometers? (New question, not required)

10000

What is the estimated population (current 2020) in your Place?

20000000

Challenges: Describe the current (2020) and the future (2050) challenges that your food system faces.

Population growth is reducing the family to size of farmland, climate change is also making it more difficult to predict the right time to farm, but mainly, market analysis and logistics infrastructure are the major challenges for farmers here and now.

In 2050 the challenges will include farm optimisation as size of farmland will continue to reduce.

The consumers will be busier and future of work suggests that the trend will continue. Convenient food access will be a 2050 challenge.

Address the Challenges: Describe how your Vision will address the challenges described in the previous question.

We are using tech to create a growing community that jointly purchase items in bulk direct from farmers and manufacturers and share accordingly,  We are changing the narratives of attaching purchasing power to single individual, Instead we are leveraging the strength of numbers or pool of users with same interest on a commodity to negotiate best bargains.

using our app,  we make it possible and easy for users 1. Put money together, 2.Purchase items in bulk from Farmers and Manufacturers, 3. Share and get delivered.
This translates to amazing bargains from the convenience of home or office. Easy and cheap customer acquisition and retention for the farmer/manufacturer.
Our technology includes web, mobile and offline.

Bulkieshare is making it possible for users to constitute the needed pool easy and fast, make Sinless payment (in installments where it applies) and receive items from the convenience of home or office at great bargains).

We have shareVenues with storage facilities for offline activities.

High Level Vision: With these challenges addressed, now provide a high level description of how the Place and the lives of its People will be different than they are now.

Our users will have more money for other things that matters. We are targeting improved standards of living for our adopters. Our Solution will also promote planning, the farmer will have ready offtakers and prompt payment.

The parents can now plan around how and when to buy food as they can automatically schedule these purchases.

Full Vision: How do you describe your Vision for a regenerative and nourishing food future for your Place and People for 2050?

We will become the best place for accessing quality food, fresh farm products and general groceries, using our professionalism and leveraging community strength and technology.

We encourage practices that not just improve bargains but are also environment friendly, refill and reuse of packaging materials  are part of the practises.

Our Solution is unique and has a ripple effect on the savings the users will make over time,

Share-Venues will be built to foster togetherness and easy offline support for the locals who might be able to use the apps.

Farmers will be encourage to produce more good quality products knowing the market is there already.

What we are building is huge but very possible.
